Adoption information:
** Serious inquiry should call (512)-964-8811. We like to match each individual kitten with prospective families when the perfect family comes along!! We do consider many factors when choosing our families, it is NOT always first come- first serve.
Waitlist: We are currently not offering any sort of wait list, early deposits for pick of litter or putting anyone in "line" for our babies. It isn't first come first serve, you must be matched with an available kitten & have an application approved!
*** What happens if you choose to not follow through with the purchase of your kitten after placing a reservation? Holding fees/reservations are NON-refundable, NO exceptions. Failure of the Purchaser to complete the purchase of the Sphynx kitten would subject Breeder to lost opportunities to get to know other potential families and retention of the holding fee is meant to compensate Breeder for lost opportunities to find a suitable home in a timely manner. We only approve families that have demonstrated to us that they are ready for a long term commitment and take a very dedicated approach to assist each family in choosing the perfect Sphynx kitten that meets their needs! In case by case situations, reservation fee may be transferred towards the cost of a future kitten, but not act in place as a new reservation/holding fee. In the instance a health issue arises with your Sphynx kitten while in my care & we are unable to offer a healthy kitten the option to have the reservation refunded will be offered.
Visits: **Our cattery isn't open to anyone just wanting to come meet our Sphynx, play with kittens, & or test allergies. I'm sorry and we realize this may not work for everyone and we apologize for the inconvenience. As a busy & protective mom of both children and furr / furr-less babies I will do anything I can to protect them. This includes not being naive to the fact that bad things can happen when letting strangers into our home who come to "window shop". This opens us up to theft and people with cruel intentions & or worse. We'd be more than happy to give you plenty of references, our vet's phone number, names of past families that you can message, and send videos /pictures of our home and where our cats are raised. If you browse our Facebook & Instagram pages hopefully it will be clear up to you that we take great care of our kittens and it is apparent they are raised with love. We're also more than happy to FaceTime with you, send pictures, & send videos of our cats as well as answer any questions you may have concerning the care of our babies! If you are interested in our kittens please start by filling out our application or calling to chat. We have more than plenty of references of happy families & healthy kittens, so please just ask!!
Follow us on Facebook & Instagram to get updates on your reserved kitten, pics, & videos that we post often!! I love photography and do occasional photo shoots of the kittens and will email / text them to you if you'd like!

Sphynx care:
Important items:
-We use Tidy cats 24/7 in a yellow bucket with red lid.
-Microfiber cloths you can find a whole pack down the cleaning isle in Walmart
-Heating pads set to low or heated beds
-Cat nail clips (the little mini scissor ones from Dollar Tree work great!)
-Beds, blankets, toys
-Scratching posts
-Cat trees
-Shelves & perches (a place for your Sphynx to get up high & off the floor)
-Huggies natural care baby wipes for face and nails
-Q-tips, cotton balls, & ear cleaner
-stainless steel bowls or a water fountain
- Kitty tooth brush
-Sweaters & shirts optional!! We don't dress our kitties but if you would like to that is fine!
**Never let your vet flush the ears with cleaner directly squirted in the ear. We have had kittens have serious reactions to this and some even left with a permanent head tilt. Only put cleaner on a cotton ball & clean what you can see. Follow up with a Q-tip while being careful to not go deep in the ear canal. Sphynx sometimes can have heavy wax in ears. Don't assume ear mites or treat for mites without having your vet confirm with a microscope. Sphynx should not be over bathed. Less is always more with this breed. Shoot for 1-2 times a month with bathing so you don't over strip the natural oils on their skin which could cause them to over produce oils. You will also want to wipe the nail beds by lightly expressing the nail after their bath and cleaning with a microfiber cloth or wet wipe.
Joycats kittens do NOT recieve and should never be given the vaccine for FIV, Leukemia, & FIP
We recommend you DO NOT over vaccinate your kitten / cat. Cats do NOT need vaccines every year to stay healthy. Please Titer test before any vaccines to make sure they need them. Rabies vaccine should never be given at the same time as any other vaccines.
We recommend you do not use topical flea prevention on your Sphynx. Please discuss with your vet safe options for heart worm prevention. We recommend revolution for flea, tick, heart worm prevention if one must be used. We have safely used revolution for a long time for all of our coated pets.
Health Insurance is recommended for your new kitten!! This is one of the most important things you can do for your kitten & it shouldn't be overlooked or forgotten. This is to insure you are well PREPARED in any unexpected accident or unforeseen health issues that, while rare, could quickly add up in cost. True Panion, Healthy paws, or Nationwide are a few companies that offer pet insurance.
The degree of hairlessness in Sphynx can vary from cat to cat and no Sphynx is completely hairless. It should be understood that hormones, seasons, genetics, & temperature in house can all play a role in hairlessness and even some kittens sold completely hairless could possibly grow some hair /fuzz in the future.
Sphynx can have dark or brown stained teeth & tongue when you get your kitten, it is oils from mom's skin when nursing or from suckling on siblings. One silly trait of the Sphynx is that they can nurse / suckle into adulthood on to you or themselves (sometimes they find a favorite blanket to nurse on). It is very common and NOT because they were weaned early. You can brush your cat's teeth regularly to prevent tooth decay.
Sphynx owners should be knowledgeable on Sphynx care which includes bathing, nail/ear care, nutrition, health, & HCM scanning. Please research hypertrophic cardiomyopathy & how it affects the Sphynx breed. This breed is NOT for everyone and does require extra health prevention. We are working hard to keep our customers updated on when low cost HCM clinics will be offered. Please join our group on Facebook "TEXAS SPHYNX & LYKOI" for clinic updates! These clinics fill fast, please plan accordingly as cardiologists often have long waits to get in.
